Argentina Vs Germany

Weekend pass real quickly, and it's like coming to Sunday tmr. Yesterday's World cup match of Holland Versus Brazil was unexpected for me.

I admit that i'm not a soccer person after like dislocate my arm because of soccer, but i use to love brazil and brazil was the only country i think is worth the cup. I donno why? Maybe influence by my brother. We use to watch world cup together and support brazil together. But now? Hai. like what other say Team 4 yrs ago are different four years later. So yup, get on and move on people. The fact is Holland won last night.

Tonight's match, Argentina Versus Germany.

Things were expected but come out unexpected.

Both share something of a common path coming into the last eight – an apology from Sepp Blatter to the teams they disposed off viz Mexico and England respectively. Is this a good or bad sign? Only time will tell, but one thing is for sure, come Sunday morning, only one will continue on their African journey.

Argentina has won all their games so far, by a total margin of 10-2. Germany suffered a shock 0-1 defeat to Serbia, which had the German media predicting the end of the world for the Germans, but their score-line so far is quite similar, at 9-2.

Argentina and Germany have met each other 18 times in international ties, and the record stands at Argentina won 8 times, Germany won 5 times, draw 5 times.

On 30 June 2006 in Berlin, Germany the host nation, knocked Argentina out of the 2006 World Cup at the quarter-final stage after a 1-1 draw after extra time, and 4-2 on the penalty shoot-out.

People’s Choice has Argentina as the favourite, to WIN at 2.15 on the 1x2, and Germany to WIN at 3.00. A DRAW is not far off at 3.05. Similarly, on the Half/Full Time Double, Home-Home (H-H) is the top choice at 3.70, followed by Draw-Draw (D-D) at 4.60, and Draw-Home (D-H) not far away at 4.70. On Pick-the-Score however, 1-0 at 6.50 is quite close to 1-1 at 6.60, then 2-1 at 7.00.

On Stage of Elimination, the gap is slightly wider, with Germany to exit at 1.53 and Argentina at 2.25. Similarly, the gap on Championship winner is wider with Argentina to WIN the 2010 World Cup at 3.90 and Germany some distance away at 5.50. On the pair of finalists, the relevant odds for this match show Argentina ahead as well - Brazil and Argentina is at 3.20, compared to Brazil and Germany at 5.80. Quite a few permutations.

Now that Germany is no longer on home ground, will Argentina avenge their 2006 defeat? Or will the Germans prevail again?
