CAMP

Back from Camp, should i even mention the word 'Finally'?

i should have blog yesterday, however i was too tire to even touch my lappy because i went to Cell group yesterday so by the time i reached home it was like midnight?

Camp was fun that's what i could realy say. I've learned alot through the camp.

Reached Boon lay in the morning to assemble and take the bus to the camp site, it was a 10 mins journey from Boon lay station. we reached the camp site at ard 12 plus, by the time we reached the camp site, it started to rain. Grass patch started to turn muddy but luckily i was wearing Sandles. We started to break the ice after having our lunch, gosh the food.. *ahem not really good as what andrew had told us during the briefing. But still we have to eat it like 3 days? the rice is like so sticky, it's like when you cook rice you put too much water in and the rice became sticky. But we can't expect much, it's camp.

we played Speed Ball, Loop Through, Entangled games during the breaking of ice to know the Volunteers Leader(VL) better AND also the trainers from the Trekkers (HAKIM, Jean, Fizah, Shoko, Andrew)

Ard 5 plus, the students from Metta school reached the camp site. For you info, the students from Metta School are students that are low in IQ. Their IQ range is from 50-70 so their reaction, ability is slow. It's quite a challenging thing, i mean as in it trained ups my patience, i got to communicate with them slowly, again and again.

Metta School's Web: http://www.mettaschool.edu.sg/

We were seperated into 4 groups namely: SPONGEBOB, Finding Nemo, Shrek & Chicken Little

and i'm in the SPONGEBOB team, our team consist of 12 students, 7 girls 5 boys and overall there was quite a number of Malays out of the 60 students.

By now you will realised how come there's no photos in the blog? because we are not allowed to publish any photos on the net due to the parents factor so ya. For my own 'safety' i better don cross over the limit. hahas..

alright.. first 7 childrens arrive first and we break the ice by calling them to play the same game like loop through etc. there was this boy very cute, his name is called 'faizal' he only rmb my name cos he watch spongebob.. hehe*

later on the other 5 students reached the camp site with the second bus, and so we called them to join in the games. and they can't of quite shy on the first day, but on the second day they starts to open up to us, calling us 'teacher' here 'teacher' there.

We are seperated into different Huts from A-J and we are sleeping with the students. My team is the last group, we slept at the Hut J and we have 5 students in the Hut. With 2 VL including me in the Hut.

I realised that the students in my HUT likes to wake me up to bring them to the toilet, and the other VL call Kenny never wake up once by them.

First day i was wake by a student at 2pm to accompany him to the toilet, they cannot go out alone, so i have to go with them.

Second day, the same student woke me up at 2pm (i donno why he must go toilet at 2pm) and i bring him to the toilet and after that i went to sleep. Btw i slept at 11pm. At 5pm another guy woke me up and he wanted to go to the toilet so i look over at my the other friend he sleep like 'pig' so i no choice, i bring him to the toilet. Came back to the hut at 5.07pm and i quickly went back to sleep cos i waking up at 5.30pm to bath, did i mention i'm sleeping on top so i have to climb up and down. DAMN!! i went back to sleep at 5.07pm, even before i fall asleep, the same guy that went to the toilet at 2pm woke me up at 5.15pm to go to the toilet, and he wear his shoe even before i asked. Gosh, i bring him to the toilet and came back at 5.20pm. In the end i never go sleep.

Gosh it's like on Medication, 3 hours 1 time (In hokkien)

So in the end i was like damn!! tire.. LOL!! i still have to belay ppl somemore.. wth!?! and let me tell you, belaying is damn tire, it's like training your hand muscle, you have to pull and retract and extract. gosh!! but it's fun, most imptly i can tanned myself.. hahahas..

so fast, three days just pass.. and the camp came to an end, i did not send them up the bus cos i scared i will cry. And the students cry...
