Relationship workshop

Life been busy for me, it's like WOW.. real busy..gosh.. and finally i've done up my microsoft frontpage and i kind of like proud of myself, i did it all by myself.. i repeat ALL BY MYSELF.. hahas.. sound so proud now..

ok, i've attended one workshop and one forum yst.. the workshop was held in school, it was a relationship talk by Adam Khoo's Company. We just have to go, cos school paid for us, and if we never go we have to like pay the school $20.

We went..and it's the same old speaker..the one that always make us laugh.. His name: Freddy.

Overall it's nice..and enjoyable..i will tell you guys more on what i learn in the workshop and in the forum.. But let me just elaborate on the workshop.

Firstly he speaks on IQ and EQ.. we was told to like write ont he book, what is IQ and EQ Means to us?

I wrote:

IQ means Smart,Intelligent,Clever
EQ means Emotional in another words 'Po' (in hokkien) in short (suck up) if you know how to suck up people then you will succeed in life. hahas..

He ltr on Tell us on the ultimate success formula which was:

Belief -> Relationship goal -> Strategy -> Action -> Success

What i believe about relationship?

1. Being Care and cared
2.Common Interest
3.Mutual Trust
4.Someone being there for you
5.Happiness;Sadness;Emotional
6.Being love and loved

Professor Albert Mehrabian conducted a psychological test at Clark University in 1964 to see the effects of communication of feelings and attitudes (like vs. dislike) and the impact the various components have in it. He was amazed to discover the follow components and put them into this equation:

Verbal liking= words: what you say
Vocal liking= Tonality: how you say it
Facial liking= Physiology: Your facial expression and body posture as you say it

for eg: YOU ARE NAUGHTY (Fierce way) or You Are Naughty (Seductive way)

Total liking (100%) =

7% Verbal liking
38% Vocal liking
55% Facial liking

Rapport is one of the most important components in communication. Having rapport as the foundation for any relationship means that when there are tough issues to discuss, you can more easily find solutions and move on.

When you have rapport with someone, it feels like you are being in "sync", being on the same "wavelength" as the person with whom you are talking. Rapport can also refer to a feeling of harmonious connection between people.

Rapport is the process of entering another person's model of the world. It is about building relationship. Rapport or trust is established by : increasing similarity and reducing differences.

When do you enough of increasing similarities and reducing differences, the person you are communicating with will have the feeling that 'you think like me', 'you know how i feel', 'you understand me' and 'i can trust you.'

From this vantage point (hving established rapport), they will have an unquestionable acceptance of your suggestions and requests. In fact, any resistance you encounter with anyone is usually a sign of a lack of rapport. Do you realise that people like others who are similar?

Next, the chemicals in our Brain

The three neuro-chemicals are:

1.Serotonin
2.Dopamine
3.Adrenaline

Low levels of Serotonin causes the person to "obsess" over their partner and they can't do anything else except "missing" the person.

Dopamine causes a feeling of bliss and a state of euphoria

Adrenaline makes the heart races and the person feeling excited with flushed skin and sweaty palms.

So brian you know what happens when you see KW or even when we start to talk abt him? Adrenaline will start to react in your brian to make you blush.

Some neuro-chemicals were found in that part of their brains that explained why they felt "in love".

What this means
People easily get addicted to falling in love because it makes them feel good. But, because the chemicals responsible for this "marvelous in-love feeling" will dwindle within 2 years, they fall out of love when that happens. And they search for someone new who can cause the chemicals to be released and fall in love all over again.

Falling in love, or the initial romantic attraction is why people go into relationships. However, that is not enough for the relationsip to sustain.
